Teacher what?

I want people to understand exactly what it means to be a teacher, a good teacher. The general job description of a teacher is misleading and can even be degrading. I’ve learned that it means you are a role model, guardian, friend, and an educator. Sometimes you are the only anything in a child’s life. It means doing lots of extra work for FREE. It means you have to move furniture, and constantly maintain a nicely decorated and up to date classroom, both which are overlooked or completely taken for granted. There is lots and lots of paperwork and reading and researching, all very time consuming. It is physically and emotionally exhausting. You are expected to stand for most of the day, and project your voice (which does cause pain in your throat and lower abdomen). You have to push yourself to be energetic and engaging.     With my apologies for being so late to responding; you’re quite welcome! As a matter of fact, when I saw your “thank you” this evening, it reminded of a young woman I’ve been meaning to tell about your blog and the little I gleaned about you from reading your writings! She is a young woman, 25 just, and there/s something, ? — not sure, but it feels like a wisdom you both have beyond your experience, a wisdom you’re both perhaps unable to see or grasp; I feel certain though that you both have this quality, which feels like to serves you both well!
